WE WERE SHORTLISTED FOR ANOTHER AWARD!!!
In view of our involvement as Northern Station Adopters at Bare Lane over the past six years, we decided to enter the Community Rail Awards for 2019, run by ACoRP (Association of Community Rail Partnerships). We entered category 4 - Most Enhanced Station Buildings & Surroundings – and our submission was shortlisted (see Community Rail Awards 2019 shortlist). Of the other 7 entries shortlisted nationally in this category a neighbouring station was entered by the Friends of Kents Bank Station for their Woodland, Wildlife and Waiting Room Project. Other specific North West stations shortlisted were Goostrey and Levenshulme.
The winners were -Bottesford Station (on the Nottingham – Grantham line) for the Poacher Line Community Rail Partnership - The Bee Friendly Trust - Bottesford Friendly Garden. (See https://communityrail.org.uk/resources-ideas/case-studies/bottesford-friendly-garden/)

A Green Partnership Award certificate, acknowledging our efforts in summer 2010, working on the access renewal for Torrisholme Barrow and Low Lane Wood, to repair stiles, steps and fencing that we first constructed there in 1990!
Winner of BTCV's Green Heroes Awards 2008, for the category BTCV Community Group of the Year in the North West and North East Region!!! At Great Wood on Sunday 15 June 2008, Kevin Jones, Operations Director Northern England (BTCV), presented the certificate to the group:
A certificate received for Website Development (2008) in recognition of the contribution we made to improving the environment for the benefit of the community through the use of a Green Partnership Award.
Morecambe in Bloom
We won a Gold Award in the Community section of Morecambe in Bloom and were also runners-up for the Community Challenge Award, receiving a cup!
